Natural Lip Balm


Lip Balms-a preparation applied to soothe sore or cracked lips.

What is lip balm:  " Lip balm or lip salve is a wax-like substance applied using the finger or in a lipstick style tube topically to the lips of the mouth to moisturize and relieve chapped or dry lips, angular cheilitis, stomatitis, or cold sores." ~ Wikipedia.

Did you know that threw its origins lip balm can be traced back to earwax?? That's right ear wax!

According to recent poll conducted by Total Beauty on their facebook page,
"the average woman uses lip balm anywhere from two to 30 times a day. Yeah, you read that right -- 30 times."
So, how many times a day do you use lip balm? I personally use lip balms at least 10 times daily and I use it year round. I cannot imagine a room in my house without two or three of these little tubes of moisturizing relief in them or leaving my home without one or a gloss in one of my pockets, bag or both! In the checkout aisles I always scan the shelves for the cylindrical tube of lip balms. The best thing is they are small enough to fit any where.

I have used several brands of lip balm brands threw the years: I remember when I was in elementary school using plain ole Vaseline that my mom had placed in a small container for me.  Then in my junior years I graduated to brands like Chap-Stick, Dr. Pepper, Kissing Koolers & I remember Lip Smackers got me threw my first kiss.

As I got older other new brands hit the market like  Blistex, Burts's Bee's, EOS, Aquaphor & Carmex.  I see these brands all the time.  My favorite now is the brand Blistex especially if it has menthol in it.  However if I need it I will actually use any brand that I find nearest me or in any of my pockets or bag.  Also I think I may have found a better brand for me. 

So I was sent a couple lip balms at a discount to do an honest review on them so I thought since there is more than one, I will do a blog on several brands including the discounted one's.  So I went around my rooms and threw my drawers and pick out a few brands I already owned.  I used each brand for a week and made a comparison.

My Thoughts:


  • This comes in a three pack but I only received one to do my review.
  • When I first applied this brand the smell and the taste of this brand Annoyed me!  It does eventually go away after a short while.
  • Its coverage is light but feels greasy and sticky ~Meaning I DO have to use a tighter grip on my cigarette because the cigarette may stay stuck on my lips after puffing, But just like the smell and taste, this as well eventually wears down and is not so greasy and sticky. 
  • This brand stays on my lips long but not as long as the art naturals brand [with out eating but I did drink from a straw and smoke]!

    My thoughts: 




    • I liked This brand ArtNaturals Natural Lip Balm Beeswax  right away.
    • Perfect in coverage not thick, greasy or sticky ~meaning my cigarette did not stick to my lips after puffing.
    • The flavoring is subtle and so is the sweetness/taste.  I actually fell in love with the Grapefruit tropic and the Mango Papaya.
    • This brand stayed on my lips longer than the other brands in this blog [with out eating but I did drink from a straw and smoke]! 
    • I found myself actually looking for this brand to take with me when leaving my home.

    Using BeesWax, Camphor, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetyl Palmitate, Candelilla Wax, Lanolin, Lanolin Oil, Menthol, Mineral oil, Paraffin, petrolatum, cocoa seed butter, titanium dioxide. It contains 3 long lasting protectants and it seals in moisture to alleviate dryness and prevent re-occurrence. It also glides on comfortably to provide complete coverage and avoid further irritation of  chapped lips.

    My Thoughts:


    • This is a brand I have used a lot and will look for this brand in a store or scan the checkout aisle for this brand. 
    • I love the way it immediately soothes my lips, making them feel moisturized.
    • Coverage is not thick, greasy or sticky feeling period. ~Meaning just like the previous brand above, I don't have to use a tighter grip on my cigarette.
    • I love the fragrance/smell and the taste is somewhat mentholy and not sweet at all.  
    • This brand stay on my lip long, but not as long as the Art Naturals brand. [without eating but I did drink from a straw and smoke]! 




          As I said previously Blistex "was"  my favorite brand but I will be purchasing the art natural brand instead.  The Art Natural brand seems to give me the coverage I want, the relief and protection I prefer and the smells and taste that is more pleasing to my nose and mouth.

            i tried your The Healing Tree Vegan "Natural" Lip Balm they are really amazing and effective it gives me a new confident to face the world before it i was used to be shy because i didn't have good lips but after using it i found a big change in me and my lips
